As the city filed it
Liscombe Road is a two-lane 8.5 metres wide road classified in the City's Road Classification System as a local road. This street is located in the residential community east of Jane Street, south of Highway 401. Sidewalks are absent on both sides of the roadway. A number of residents on Liscombe Road have contacted my office to share their concerns about speed and volume issues on their street. Residents regularly observe motorists travelling at high speeds, which is most concerning to the many families and children walking to and from the nearby Maple Leaf Park and Rustic Park.

At a public meeting held on September 9, 2015 (former Ward 12), residents were concerned about speeding on Liscombe Road. In response, Transportation Services conducted speed and volume counts. Furthermore, a study was then conducted to investigate the feasibility of lowering the speed limit from 40km/hr to 30 km/hr, but Council postponed consideration of this item. The Speed Limit Warrant Analysis showed that the majority of vehicles were travelling at speeds above 40 km/hr.
