On the agenda

As the city filed it

The purpose of this Motion is to request City of Toronto Council's support in urging the Province of Ontario to reinstate its one-third share $14 million in the building of the community centre in Lawrence Heights. In April 2018, the Provincial Budget included $14 million dollars towards a new community centre in Lawrence Heights. However, in August 2019, the Province of Ontario withdrew its one-third share of $14 million that was committed to the building of community centre, which had a $14 million dollar commitment from the Federal and Municipal governments.

This is an urgent Motion given the acute need to invest in youth and communities so that the City of Toronto can better deal with the root cause of violence by investing in communities, families and youth.
