Authorization to Release Section 37 Funds from the Development at 40 - 60 McCaul Street for Implementation of the Grange Green Plan - by Councillor Joe Cressy, seconded by Councillor Mike Layton

As development in the downtown core continues, we must ensure that we are creating liveable neighbourhoods - finding opportunities to enhance and create green spaces is an important part of that liveability. In July 2018, after two years of work, the Toronto and East York Community Council endorsed the Grange Green Plan, and directed City staff to work together with community partners to prepare a plan to implement the Grange Green Plan. Since this time, work has continued to prioritize and plan implementation. These Section 37 funds will be used for planning and design of the first phase of the Plan. Funds have been secured through a Section 37 contribution from the development at 40, 46, 48, 50, 52 and 60 McCaul Street and 10 Stephanie Street towards landscaping improvements in the public realm on McCaul Street and in the Grange Community, to the satisfaction of the Chief Planner and Executive Director, City Planning in consultation with the Ward Councillor and the Grange Community Association. These funds have been received by the City.

2. City Council direct that the $35,000.00 be forwarded to the Sir William Campbell Foundation upon the signing of an Undertaking by the Foundation governing the use of the funds and the financial reporting requirements.
