Having completed the recruitment process, this report recommends the appointment of the individual named in a Confidential Attachment, to the position of Controller, and to the statutory office of Deputy Treasurer for the City of Toronto.

This matter is urgent to conclude the recruitment process and enable the successful candidate to commence employment in a timely manner. The appointment of the Controller is a statutory appointment that requires Council's approval as per the City of Toronto Act, 2006.

Staff recommended

Councillor Gary Crawford, seconded by Councillor Jennifer McKelvie, recommends that: 1. City Council adopt the following recommendations in report (January 29, 2019) from the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer: 1. The candidate identified in Attachment 1 be appointed to the position of Controller, and to the statutory office of Deputy Treasurer for the City of Toronto for the purposes of section 138 of the City of Toronto Act, with such appointment to be effective March 11, 2019.
