Authorization to Release Section 37 Funds from the Development at 20 to 26 Lombard Street to the St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood Business Improvement Area for Capital Improvement to Farquhar's Lane - by Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam, seconded by Councillor Joe Cressy

The artwork will be produced on aluminum composite panels or similar material suitable for outdoor installation rather than painted onto the buildings. The St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood Business Improvement Area has raised over $100,000 from community donations and has received grants totaling over $50,000. The Business Improvement Area is looking for matching funds from Section 37 of $125,000. The Farquhar's Lane Art Installation Project is a partnership between the St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood Business Improvement Area, the property owners of the walls and Mural Routes. The project is supported by a Steering Committee composed of representatives of the St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood Business Improvement Area, St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Association, 71 Front Street East (property owner/Condo Board), York Heritage Properties (property owner), The Laneway Project, Heritage Toronto, "C'est What" (local business), and Mural Routes. This Motion seeks approval to allocate funding from a Section 37 fund to the St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood Business Improvement Area in order to undertake capital improvements to Farquhar's Lane. Capital streetscape improvements to Farquhar's Lane to be undertaken by the St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood Business Improvement Area would comply with the Section 37 agreement and the Council approved Section 37 Guidelines. This Motion is urgent as the Business Improvement Area would like to begin improvements to Farquhar's Lane this summer.

2. City Council direct that the $125,000.00 be forwarded to the St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood Business Improvement Area, subject to the Business Improvement Area signing an Undertaking governing the use of the funds and the financial reporting requirements.
