City Council on July 16, 17 and 18, 2019, adopted the following: 1. City Council direct the Chief Building Officer and Executive Director, Toronto Building to undertake a review of the Vibration Control provisions contained within Chapter 363-3.6 of the Toronto Municipal Code in order to determine whether further updates or amendments are required.

The City of Toronto has witnessed significant increases in construction activity with a considerable number of these projects being undertaken in established neighbourhoods. This construction activity may have impact on adjacent properties; in particular, vibrations that emanate from project sites. It has been some time since a thorough review of the Vibration Control Provisions of the Municipal Code has been undertaken.
