Authorized the public release of the name and candidate summary of the individual identified in Confidential Attachment 1 to the report (January 7, 2019) from the Board Chair, CreateTO, once the recommendation is ratified by City Council and employment terms are agreed, and directed that the remainder of Confidential attachment 1 remain confidential as it contains personal information about an identifiable individual.

February 1, 2019: The name of the appointed Chief Executive Officer is Brian Johnston. The Candidate Summary contained in Confidential Attachment 1 to the report (January 7, 2019) from the Board Chair, CreateTO is now public, as follows: Candidate Summary The final candidate is Brian Johnston. Mr. Johnston is a CA/CPA with a bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto. He has extensive experience in the real estate industry, spending the last 6 years as the Chief Operating Office at Mattamy Homes responsible for operations of the company's Canadian and US homebuilding operations. Prior to that, Mr. Johnston as President, Monarch Corporation and was responsible for all aspects of the company's Canadian operations. During the course of his extensive career, Mr. Johnston has been affiliated with a number of real estate and other organizations and boards, and has significant experience in both corporate and public sector governance. Mr. Johnston served on the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation Board, a Crown Corporation, for over 8 years as Director.
