The Scarborough Community Council: 1. Directed the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter the roadway of Foxridge Drive, between Birchmount Road and Kennedy Road, for traffic calming purposes, generally as shown on the location Plan, attached to the report entitled "Traffic Calming - Foxridge Drive". 2. Reduced the speed limit from 40 km/h to 30 km/h on Foxridge Drive, between Birchmount Road and Kennedy Road.

This staff report is about a matter for which the Community Council has delegated authority from City Council to make a final decision. Transportation staff have reviewed the need for traffic calming on Foxridge Drive. The request is as a result of the Councillor and residents' concerns regarding the speed of vehicles on Foxridge Drive. The assessment indicates that traffic calming in the form of speed humps is warranted on this street.

Staff recommended

The Acting Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services recommends that: 1. Scarborough Community Council direct the Acting Director of Traffic Management, Transportation Services to request the City Clerk to poll eligible householders on Foxridge Drive, between Birchmount Road and Kennedy Road to determine whether residents support the installation of traffic calming, in accordance with the City of Toronto Traffic Calming Policy.
