Scarborough Community Council directed that: 1. Transportation Services undertake a study on Golders Green Avenue between Winter Gardens Trail and East Avenue to determine if any stop signs or other traffic management devices are warranted to improve traffic flow and safety for both vehicles and pedestrians, and report back to the January 8, 2020 meeting of Scarborough Community Council.

Golders Green is a local road with a sidewalk on both sides and a speed limit of 40 km/hr. It connects East Ave, a collector road, to Port Union Road, a minor arterial road, via Winter Garden Trail. There are no all-way-stop controls on Golders Green Avenue. William G Davis Junior Public School and Joseph Howe Senior Public School are located in close proximity. My office has received a petition signed by local residents requesting an all way stop control at Golders Green Avenue and Whiterock Drive.

The petition is signed by 27 households on Winter Garden Trail, 21 households on Golders Green Avenue and 1 household each on Whiterock Drive and Grandhall Court. I hereby request a traffic study on Golders Green Avenue, to determine if any stop signs, or other traffic management methods are warranted for improved clarity and safety.

That Scarborough Community Council recommend that: 1. Transportation Services undertake a traffic study on Golders Green Avenue between Winter Gardens Trail and East Avenue to determine if any stop signs or other traffic management devices are warranted to improve traffic flow and safety for both vehicles and pedestrians, and report back to the December 3, 2019 meeting of Scarborough Community Council.
