Approved the extension of the overnight on-street permit parking hours on the streets listed in Appendix A of the report (October 2, 2019) from the Manager, permits and Enforcement , Parking and Administration, Transportation Services, to the new hours of 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., 7 days a week.

This staff report is about a matter which Community Council has delegated authority from City Council to make a final decision. Transportation Services is requesting approval from Toronto and East York Community Council to temporarily extend the overnight on-street permit parking hours of operation on the streets listed in "Appendix A" from their current hours to the new hours of 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., 7 days a week during the 2019 Toronto Christmas Market, which takes place from November 14, 2019 to December 22, 2019, inclusive.

By extending the overnight on-street permit parking hours, residents will have improved parking flexibility during the Christmas Market, and the Parking Enforcement Unit, Toronto Police Service, can effectively control long-term parking by non-residents through tagging and towing operations.

Staff recommended

The Manager, Permits and Enforcement, Infrastructure and Development Services, Transportation Services, recommends that: 1. Toronto and East York Community Council approve the extension of the overnight on-street permit parking hours on the streets listed in "Appendix A" of the report dated October 2, 2019 to the new hours of 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., 7 days a week.
