The Toronto and East York Community Council: 1. Waived the polling requirement under the City's Traffic Calming Policy and authorize the installation of traffic calming on Cassels Avenue, between Woodbine Avenue and Devon Road. 2. Directed the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter the roadway on Cassels Avenue, between Woodbine Avenue and Devon Road for traffic calming purposes, generally as shown on attached Drawing No. 421G-3612, dated November 2019, to the Letter (November 27, 2019) from Councillor Brad Bradford.

I hosted a community meeting in May to discuss area changes in relation to Woodbine Avenue and traffic and congestion mitigation. Approximately 200 residents came out to offer ideas and solutions to help resolve these issues and provide feedback on how Woodbine Avenue could work for everyone. The purpose of this motion is to address resident safety concerns by having speed humps installed on Cassels Avenue, between Woodbine Avenue and Devon Road.
