Permanent Closure of the T-Shaped Public Lane at the Rear of 371 Bloor Street West and North of Washington Avenue, between Spadina Avenue and Huron Street

The UTS proposed project is a 140,000 to 150,000 square foot expansion and renovation to the east wing of 371 Bloor Street West, providing facilities for 600 students. The project will also provide a 700 seat auditorium, atrium and outdoor teaching space as well as a new double height gymnasium below grade under the University Open Space known as the Huron Washington Parkette. In addition, an existing heritage building will be renovated and the existing gym will be converted into a library and the swimming pool into a black box theatre. The facilities will be accessible to the public to make use of the theatres and gymnasium during off hours. The University of Toronto Schools proposes the auditorium to build on a portion of the public lane.

2. City Council enact a by-law substantially in the form of the draft by-law attached as Appendix "A" to the report dated December 21, 2018, from the Director, Transportation Planning and Capital Program, Transportation Services.
