The Senior Manager, Heritage Preservation Services, Urban Design, City Planning to research and evaluate the properties 245 Logan Avenue according to provincial criteria Regulation 9/06, to gain a better understanding of the cultural heritage value of the property, and to report to the Toronto Preservation Board meeting on June 20, 2019.

245 Logan was one of the first Dominion Stores in Canada and is on property that was earlier owned by Samuel Sewell, a patriarch of Leslieville's black community, who escaped slavery in Virginia to found a thriving community of refugees around the corner of Logan and Queen. It is also attached to 889-893 Queen Street East, which were identified as being of potential heritage significance in the Leslieville Urban Design Guidelines.
