On February 20, 2020, the North York Panel of the Committee of Adjustment refused Application A0746/19NY brought by the owner of 31 Roslin Avenue for minor variances in order to construct a third story addition above the existing dwelling, a three-story addition to the rear, and other exterior and interior alterations, all facilitating the conversion of the dwelling into a triplex. A copy of the Committee's decision is attached.

In a report from the Director, Community Planning, North York District dated February 13, 2020, Community Planning Staff recommended that if the application be approved, it be subject to conditions requiring that the Application be constructed in accordance with the submitted site plan and elevation drawings, and that privacy screens be used on the proposed second story balcony. A copy of the report is attached. On March 7, 2020, the Applicant appealed the Committee of Adjustment's decision to the Toronto Local Appeal Body. This Motion will authorize the City Solicitor to attend the Toronto Local Appeal Body in opposition to the Application, and to secure the necessary authorization and resources to support the City's position.
