The driver remains in police custody while investigations continue to determine the cause of the collision. We take traffic safety concerns very seriously and we continue to strive to improve our roads and neighbourhoods to become as safe as possible. Regardless of the preliminary causes leading to the aforementioned tragic incident we believe Transportation Services staff should conduct a complete review of the intersection and improve its safety if possible. This review could include assessing street lighting, adjusting traffic light timing and synchronization, repairing and updating traffic signs and studying the feasibility of installing advance green traffic lights.
