Various presentations, introductions and announcements were made to City Council on November 25 and 26, 2020. November 25, 2020 Speaker Nunziata, during the morning session of the meeting, welcomed back Councillor Jaye Robinson. Councillor Jaye Robinson addressed City Council and expressed how great and how fortunate it is to be back after her battle with cancer. Councillor Robinson spoke of the number of women that will be diagnosed with breast cancer and wanted these women to know that they are not alone.

Councillor Robinson thanked the health care workers for treating patients during the pandemic. Councillor Robinson also thanked Members of Council, City staff and her team for their support. A special thank you was given to Councillor Jaye Robinson's constituents for their support, patience, understanding and encouragement. Mayor Tory on behalf of Members of Council expressed how thrilled Members are to see Councillor Robinson back. Councillor Cressy, during the morning session of the meeting, congratulated Councillor Bradford and his wife on the upcoming birth of their baby. November 26, 2020 Speaker Nunziata, during the morning session of the meeting, called upon Mayor Tory to recognize Yusuf (Joe) Kassam, upon his retirement. Mayor Tory advised Members of Council that Mr. Kassam started his career with the City in 1988 and in 2008 was appointed Sergeant at Arms. Mayor Tory spoke of Yusuf Kassam's empathy, dedication and contribution to the City and of his ability to build a positive culture at City Hall. Mayor Tory commented on how Mr. Kassam was able to handle protests on Nathan Phillips Square in an orderly way and keep the public safe. Mayor Tory also noted Mr. Kassam's quiet and confident manner in carrying out his duties to protect not only Members of Council but the institution itself which has not always been an easy feat. Mayor Tory, on behalf of Members of Council, thanked Yusuf (Joe) Kassam for his dedicated service and wished him a happy, healthy and long retirement. Mr. Kassam addressed City Council and expressed his appreciation for the honour of the recognizing his retirement and how he cherishes the relationships that he built at the City. Yusuf (Joe) Kassam thanked Members for their well wishes.
