As the city filed it
I am writing to you today regarding a parking situation that is affecting one of the largest mosques in the Toronto and East York area. Last term of Council, City Council approved a change to the on-street parking regulations on Danforth between Donlands and Woodbine. Unfortunately the local BIA, which was charged with the consultation, did not have a chance to pass the prosed changes to the Medinah Mosque which is on the block between Donlands and Caithness.

The local BIA and the Mosque have committed to establishing a closer relationship that will benefit both organizations going forward. This fall I met with the Toronto Parking Authority, the Mosque and the Danforth Mosaic BIA to better understand these issues and found that the changes have had a negative impact on the hundreds of worshippers who attend. Madinah Masjid Mosque has numerous members from all across the City and provides a number of educational and social services to the broader Muslim community in Toronto. I am writing to ask for your support to the change to the On-Street Parking hours between Donlands and Caithness to their former regulated times.
