The Toronto and East York Community Council directed: 1. The Director, Transportation Services, Toronto and East York District to request the City Clerk to poll eligible householders on Burnfield Avenue, between Ossington Avenue and Shaw Street, to determine whether residents support the installation of speed humps for traffic calming, in accordance with the City of Toronto Traffic Calming Policy. 2. Subjected to favourable results of the poll, the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter the roadway on Burnfield Avenue, between Ossington Avenue and Shaw Street, for traffic calming purposes.

Residents on Burnfield Avenue in my ward have brought forward concerns about the speed with which cars travel on their local road. As the changes to Shaw Street aim to reduce cut-through traffic, it is possible that traffic could increase on Burnfield Avenue. Residents would like to mitigate the pre-existing traffic safety issues, as well as the potential for increased traffic due to the Shaw Street Improvements, by installing speed humps.

Direct the Director, Transportation Services, Toronto and East York District to request the City Clerk to poll eligible householders on Burnfield Avenue, between Ossington Avenue and Shaw Street, to determine whether residents support the installation of speed humps for traffic calming, in accordance with the City of Toronto Traffic Calming Policy.
