The Toronto and East York Community Council: 1. Prohibited heavy trucks at all times on Frichot Avenue, between McMurrich Street and Yonge Street.

Frichot Avenue runs west from Yonge Street one block south of and parallel to Belmont Street and is Frichot Avenue is one block long, terminating at McMurrich Street where vehicles turn right to go north to Belmont Street or south to go to Davenport Road. Vehicles travelling south on Yonge Street are prohibited from turning right onto Belmont Street at all times of the day. Frichot Avenue is a very narrow roadway. Large commercial vehicles are required to mount the sidewalk on the south side of the roadway in order to clear the utility pole near the curb on the north side of the roadway when turning right from Yonge Street.

Given the above, Transportation Services have suggested restricting Heavy Vehicles. Under this prohibition trucks that have business on the street are exempt and will require a by-law change which I am proposing below.

Councillor Mike Layton recommends that Toronto and East York Community Council: 1. Prohibit heavy trucks at all times on Frichot Avenue, between McMurrich Street and Yonge Street.
