Directed the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter sections of the roadway on Lascelles Boulevard, between Tranmer Avenue and Imperial Street, for traffic calming purposes to install two speed humps, generally as shown on the attached copy of Drawing No. 421G-3761, dated June 2020.

I am writing to you to request Community Council's support for a motion that is important to the constituents of the Toronto-St. Paul's ward, but one that could not be brought forward by staff due to the impacts of the pandemic on staff redeployments. The residents of Lascelles Boulevard came to my office last September with a petition for speed humps on the block between Tranmer Avenue and Imperial Street. We have recently received the findings of the study conducted by Traffic Operations, which indicated that the street did not meet the operating speed warrant in order to be approved for speed humps (45 km/h was the observed speed).

As the actual signed speed limit on the street is 30 km/h and numerous residents have shown concern over the speeding, I would like to provide the community the opportunity to voice their interest in having the speed humps through an official City poll.

Councillor Josh Matlow recommends that the Toronto and East York Community Council: 1.
