On the agenda
As the city filed it
Residents contacted my office requesting that we review a loading zone on St. Helens Avenue. This loading zone occupied two potential parking spaces which residents wanted to claim as additional residential parking while businesses wanted to maintain the zone for commercial loading. I requested Traffic Operations to review the inventory of parking spaces on the street and to make recommendations on how to add new spaces for residents to park.

The result of this study was that by switching parking to the west side of the street, we could secure 23 new parking spaces. I immediately consulted with the local community by way of a letter, who vastly confirmed that these changes would be beneficial to the residents and businesses of the area. Therefore, I am requesting that Toronto and East York Community Council approve the recommendations to effect the shift in parking to the west side of St Helens Avenue.
