The purpose of this report is to request authority from the Economic and Community Development Committee to amend Contract Number 47020488 awarded to Gordon Food Service Canada Ltd. (GFS) for the provision of non-exclusive supply and delivery of Groceries, Produce, Frozen Foods, Seafood, Dairy products, Meat, Poultry Products and Produce to various Shelter, Support and Housing Administration Division locations. This report requests an amendment to increase the contract value by $1,800,000 net of all applicable taxes and charges ($1,800,000 net of HST recoveries), increasing the contract value from $7,173,393.92 to $8,973,393.92 net of all applicable taxes and charges.

To meet the Medical Officer of Health's order to physically distance and self-isolate if experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, Shelter, Support and Housing Administration (SSHA) was directed to open additional shelter facilities. SSHA continues to meet the nutritional needs of homeless clients and since the beginning of the pandemic, SSHA has opened 40+ additional shelters across the City. The target value for this Blanket Contract established for these services has been exceeded due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Out of the Cold Warming Centres and Winter Respite Bedded Programs.
