As we move closer to the next phase of the Provincial Vaccine Distribution Plan, this is the perfect opportunity to examine our existing strategies and get ready to ramp up daily vaccinations as we approach Phase 3 of the Provincial Vaccine Distribution Plan. A successful COVID-19 vaccination program relies on its accessibility to the general public and the speed of the rollout. We must make sure distribution is handled with equity of access as our top priority, especially when the per hour inoculation rate is limited by COVID-19 restrictions and site capacities.

This is why we should look at extending the operating hours of the City's immunization clinics during Phase 3 to provide residents with more options and increased access to book their appointments, and bring us closer to ending the pandemic.
Staff recommended
Councillor Shelley Carroll, seconded by Councillor Mike Colle, recommends that: 1. City Council request the Medical Officer of Health, in consultation with the Fire Chief and General Manager, Office of Emergency Management, to develop a plan to implement "round the clock" 24/7 vaccinations at the City-operated immunization clinics during Phase 3 of the Provincial Vaccine Distribution Plan.
