By making the sidewalk flush with landscaping, is consistent with the shoptheQueensway Business Improvement Area's vision for a safe, pedestrian-oriented area. As such, the City request the Business Improvement Area's consideration. The reconstruction will incorporate sustainable green infrastructure to assist in storm-water management and reduce heat island effects. The Business Improvement Area will maintain the new tree planters as part of the sidewalk improvements. Funds have been secured through a Section 37 agreement for the development at 784 The Queensway for streetscape improvements in the area. The funds secured have been received by the City and sufficient monies remain uncommitted for this project.
