City Council on May 5 and 6, 2021, adopted the following: 1. City Council request the General Manager, Transportation Services and the General Manager, Parks Forestry and Recreation to explore mechanisms for acquiring the southwest corner of Heath Street and Yonge Street (1564-1566 Yonge Street) to provide green space and a realignment of the intersection as detailed in the Yonge St. Clair Planning Framework in Section 3.1-Yonge Heath Civic Corners.

With growing redevelopment pressure in the community, City Council has identified improving traffic flow, pedestrian safety and the public realm at the intersection of Yonge Street and Heath Street as a priority within the Yonge and St. Clair Planning Framework.
