Authority to Submit Applications to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities Municipal Asset Management Program - by Councillor Michael Thompson, seconded by Councillor Gary Crawford

The Toronto History Museums Digitalization Initiative will develop the asset management process for Toronto History Museums through the digitization of the City of Toronto's Fine Art Collection. This project intends to develop processes for capturing visual images and comprehensive records of the entire Fine Art Collection (more than 3,000 pieces), standardizing asset circulation information, risk assessment records, evaluation and appraisal records, maintenance of the database and staff training and training resources to support ongoing asset management. This initiative aligns with the City of Toronto's Toronto History Museums digital initiatives that are currently underway. The scope of this project will lead to improvement of the City's asset management processes. The enhanced asset management process and learnings made possible by the grant funding will improve the management of user access for internal staff and external users, including members of the public. Where applicable, staff will separately seek approval for budget adjustments through the regular variance reports to Budget Committee to reflect any new funding received.
