City Council increase the 2021 Approved Operating Budget for Non-Program on a one-time basis by $15,000 gross, $0 net, fully funded by Section 37 (Planning Act Reserve Funds) community benefits from 21 Old Mill Road (Source Account: XR3026-3700443) for transfer to Arts Etobicoke for the purpose of designing a new Heritage themed mural to be created on the restored Royal York Bridge/ Mimico Creek Bridge on Royal York Road (Cost Centre NP2161).

This Motion recommends the release of Section 37 Planning Act funds to Arts Etobicoke for the purpose of undertaking the creation of a Heritage themed mural on the restored Royal York Bridge/ Mimico Creek Bridge on Royal York Road to be painted in 2022. Councillor Mark Grimes and Arts Etobicoke are working together to create a vibrant Heritage mural that reflects the beauty of the natural surroundings in the neighbourhood and will act as a gateway to the area.

Community consultations will be held online. Funds have been secured from the development at 21 Old Mill Road as community benefits through Section 37 of the Planning Act to be used toward Heritage improvements along the Humber River from Dundas Street to Lake Ontario. The funds identified have been received by the City.
