On the agenda

As the city filed it

Recently, my office has heard from concerned residents abutting the first east-west public lane south of Eversfield Road, west of Dufferin Street regarding vehicles speeding and racing on the laneway. On a few occasions this has resulted in cars losing control and causing significant damage to properties that back on to this laneway. In 2017, prior to my representing the area, a traffic study was conducted to determine whether speed bumps were warranted on both the east-west and north-south sections of the public lane.

The criteria were met in both cases, but no additional action was taken at the time. Because of these reports and having consulted with Traffic Operations, I am requesting that speed bumps be installed as per the recommendations.
