Item MM42.33 which directed the City Manager and Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer to continue to engage with the Federal and Provincial Governments to obtain funding commitments to fully address remaining COVID-19 related financial impacts anticipated in 2022; to obtain funding commitments for 2022 refugee response costs; and to obtain a firm commitment for the reimbursement of Public Health COVID-19 response and vaccine roll out costs and 2022 supportive housing costs. In the staff report dated April 5, 2022, the City Manager and the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer committed to report back in May 2022 with further actions that may be required to ensure the City maintains a balanced 2022 Operating Budget while preserving service levels across the City, in the absence of full funding commitments from other orders of government. A supplementary report will be presented to City Council in advance of its meeting on May 11, 2022, with further information to reflect the latest funding announcements and implications to the City's 2022 Budget including any impacts to the Capital Plan. Staff are finalizing the analysis based on continued dialogue with other orders of government and within the organization.
