Conversion of Toronto Transit Commission Roe Bus Loop into Much Needed Park - by Councillor Mike Colle, seconded by Councillor John Filion

2. City Council request the General Manager, Parks, Forestry, and Recreation to explore the use of all available Section 37 funding to support the development of the park and City Council direct the Executive Director, Corporate Real Estate Management, in consultation with the Chief Executive Officer, CreateTO, to explore the potential purchase of commercial properties on Avenue Road abutting the bus loop to further expand the size of the park. 3. City Council direct that, as the loop may be required by the Toronto Transit Commission during accessibility improvements at Lawrence Station, no transfer should be planned until the completion of this work in 2024. 4. City Council request the Toronto Transit Commission, in consultation with the General Manager, Transportation Services, to establish an alternative on-street routing option or options for buses in the vicinity of the Roe Bus Loop and local streets to manage unscheduled service impacts and emergencies, and City Council request City staff to work with Toronto Transit Commission staff and the local Councillor to review and recommend parking restrictions, if required, and communicate the proposed route to impacted residents. 5. City Council request the General Manager, Transportation Services to confirm that the Toronto Transit Commission will have continued exclusive use of the Bombay Bus Loop, located at Avenue Road and Bombay Avenue, to replace the Roe Bus Loop.
