As the city filed it

My office received a request to install speed bumps on east-west lane, bounded by Wallace Avenue, Emerson Avenue, Armstrong Avenue and Dufferin Street in May 2020 by property owners that abut the laneway. The laneways are utilized by both vehicles and pedestrians alike. However, in the last number of years there has been significant change in the behaviour of some drivers, which has created unsafe and dangerous conditions.

More specifically, residents have reported an increase in speed and the excessive use of horns when navigating the laneway, especially at the T-junction. Residents requested via petition in August 2020 that traffic calming measures (speed bumps) be installed as a method of addressing these concerns. Of the residents that responded, there was unanimous support for making this change. I am requesting that speed bumps be installed on the public lane as recommended below.
