The purpose of this letter is to temporarily close Bellair Street from Cumberland Street to Yorkville Avenue from May 1, 2022 until November 7, 2022, inclusive, to vehicular traffic to permit six eating establishment operators who have applied under the CaféTO program to operate a curb lane/parklet café under that program on the street. Bellair Street is a one-way local road, with no TTC service and is a mix of commercial properties.

The Toronto and East York Community Council is delegated authority to temporarily close roads of this type under Chapter 27, Council Procedures. The notice of this closure has been circulated to Transportation Services, Solid Waste Management and Emergency Services. A portion of Bellair Street will remain accessible by emergency services through moveable barricades. The operators are required to comply with the CaféTO program as approved by City Council at its meeting of November 9, 10 and 12, 2021 in operating their curb lane/parklet cafés.
