City Council on March 29, 30 and 31, 2023, adopted the following: 1. City Council amend the Use of Corporate Resources During an Election Period Policy and the Constituency Services and Office Budget Policy, to provide that the restrictions on services provided to Members of Council after August 1 in the year of a general election be applied to Council Members upon the earlier of: a. making a public declaration that they intend to seek election to the office of Mayor; or b.

filing a nomination for the office of Mayor during a Mayoral by-election; such that if the Council Member withdraws their candidacy before election day, or makes a public declaration that they will not seek election for the office of Mayor, these restrictions shall no longer apply to that Council Member. 2. City Council direct that these restrictions will apply to such Council Members except to the extent that they limit the Council Members in the direct fulfillment of Council duties. 3. City Council request any Members of Council who seek election to the Office of Mayor, to consider donating their salaries to: a. a charity serving people experiencing homelessness; b. a mental health charity; or c. the City for the duration of the campaign.

The City Manager recommends that: 1.
