The Etobicoke York Community Council: 1. Authorized an all-way compulsory stop control at the intersection of Falstaff Avenue and Blue Springs Road.

On the agenda

As the city filed it

I am requesting your support in authorizing the installation of an all-way stop control at Blue Springs Road and Falstaff Avenue. Residents presented a petition to my office to implement the changes in order to enhance safety for both motorists and pedestrians. Residents reported that the status-quo is extremely dangerous when making left turns from Blue Springs Road onto Falstaff Avenue as they avoid getting hit by speeding eastbound traffic.

The situation is equally dangerous for the pedestrians attempting to cross Falstaff Avenue at Blue Springs Road as speeding vehicles travelling east/west on Falstaff are not required to stop and many parents with children need to cross at this intersection to get to St. Fidelis School or Maple Leaf Public School.

Staff recommended

Councillor Frances Nunziata recommends that: 1. Etobicoke York Community Council authorize an all-way compulsory stop control at the intersection of Falstaff Avenue and Blue Springs Road.
