The decision

2023-04-04 · North York Community Council · adopted

As filed

North York Community Council: 1. Directed the General Manager, Transportation Services to restore the median on Teddington Park Avenue in 2023 and consult with the local Councillor on long-term solutions.

On the agenda

As the city filed it

The median on Teddington Park Avenue, particularly between Yonge Street and Bocastle Avenue, is in a significant state of disrepair. Due to the lower-than-regulated height, vehicles routinely drive over the median, causing damage to the sod and greenery and inhibiting growth in certain areas. The median is not only a community amenity, but also an important safety feature that helps narrow lanes and reduce vehicle speeds on a residential street.

While I have reported this issue to Transportation Services on multiple occasions, including as recently as 2022, a long-term solution to restore and maintain the median has not been identified and it continues to deteriorate.
