Authorize the installation of traffic calming (speed humps) on Walpole Avenue, between Greenwood Avenue and Hiawatha Road.

Dear Toronto and East York Community Council, In June 2022, speed humps were approved on Walpole Avenue under item TE34.155 with the following recommendations: 1. Directed the Director of Traffic Management, Transportation Services, to request the City Clerk to poll eligible householders on Walpole Avenue, between Greenwood Avenue and Hiawatha Road, to determine whether residents support the installation of traffic calming, in accordance with the City of Toronto Traffic Calming Policy.

2. Subject to favourable results of the poll: a. authorized the installation of traffic calming (speed humps) on Walpole Avenue, between Greenwood Avenue and Hiawatha Road. b. directed the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter sections of the roadway to install five speed humps on Walpole Avenue, between Greenwood Avenue and Hiawatha Road, for traffic calming purposes, generally as shown on Attachment 2, dated May 2022, attached to the report (May 9, 2022) from the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services. These recommendations were approved in error as my office has already polled residents of Walpole Avenue for speed humps. This letter includes requests to rectify the recommendations and install speed humps on Walpole Avenue.
