As filed

The Toronto and East York Community Council: 1. Requested the General Manager, Economic Development and Culture to present to the February 23, 2023 meeting of the Toronto and East York Community Council on development of the Nighttime Economy plan as it pertains to the duties of Community Council, including proposed contents, approval schedule, consultation plan, and any potential changes to existing by-laws.

On the agenda

As the city filed it

In 2019 City Council endorsed a plan about Toronto's Nighttime Economy. Due to the pandemic many of these initiatives were paused, but I expect they will be underway this term. While this is a city-wide strategy it is one that will primarily impact Toronto and East York communities. Liquor Licenses, patios, traffic and parking are all expected to be part of the Nighttime Economy Strategy. These issues are all routinely dealt with at TEYCC.

Anticipating that a report may be coming in the near future I am hoping that TEYCC can be consulted on the elements of this initiative. I am hoping for your support for this recommendation.
