On the agenda
As the city filed it
Since 2017, the Wallace Emerson Traffic Management Committee- a group of local area residents- has been working with the Councillor's office to introduce road safety improvements in the neighbourhood. One of the suggested improvements from this work is a 'through-traffic' restriction on Wallace Avenue at Lansdowne Avenue in the westbound direction during the evening rush hour. The creation of this restriction would prohibit vehicles travelling westbound on Wallace Avenue from going straight through the intersection at Lansdowne Avenue.

Instead, vehicles would be redirected onto Lansdowne Avenue, reducing the utilization of Wallace Avenue as an east-west corridor for non-local traffic. Bicycles are excepted from the restriction. Prior to this term of City Council, there was a commitment to implement this change. This restriction was previously supported by the commnity at a public meeting in October 2019, and in response to a notice sent in February 2020. My office is committed to monitoring the results and community feedback from the implementation of the through restriction, and making any further adjustments or changes that may be necessary.
