City Council on September 5, 2024, adopted the following: 1. City Council appoint Thomas Azouz as the Interim Deputy City Manager, Community and Social Services for the City of Toronto until such time as a new Deputy City Manager, Community and Social Services, has been appointed. 2. City Council authorize the City Solicitor to introduce the necessary by-laws to give effect to City Council's decision.

The purpose of this report is to recommend to City Council the appointment of an Interim Deputy City Manager, Community and Social Services until such time that a permanent appointment is made. The former Deputy City Manager, Community and Social Services, Paul Raftis retired from the City of Toronto in July 2024.

The City Manager recommends that: 1. City Council appoint Thomas Azouz as the Interim Deputy City Manager, Community and Social Services for the City of Toronto until such time as a new Deputy City Manager, Community and Social Services, has been appointed. 2. City Council authorize the City Solicitor to introduce the necessary by-laws to give effect to City Council's decision.
