The Scarborough Community Council: 1. Requested the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services to do a speed study on Kingston Road, between Midland Avenue and Brimley Road/Brimley Road South and report back on options to reduce speeds including but not limited to, narrowing of lanes, speed limit reduction and vision zero approaches including the potential to create a community safety zone by the school to allow for installation of speed cameras and report back in second quarter of 2025.

Working with Toronto Catholic District School Board Trustee Nancy Crawford, Green Communities Canada, St Theresa elementary school staff, St Henry Newman High school staff, parents, and Transportation Services, the following recommendation is an important option to improve student safety.

Councillor Parthi Kandavel recommends that: 1. City Council reduce the speed limit from 60 km per hour to 50 km per hour on Kingston Road, between Midland Avenue and Brimley Road/Brimley Road South.
