The Scarborough Community Council: 1. Authorized the installation of speed humps on Megan Avenue, between Lawrence Avenue East and Beechgrove Drive. 2. Directed the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter the roadway for the installation of eight speed humps on Megan Avenue, between Lawrence Avenue East and Beechgrove Drive, generally as shown on Attachments 2 and 3 to the report (November 20, 2024) from the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services.

Subject to approval of Parts 1 and 2 above, reduced the speed limit from 40 kilometers per hour to 30 kilometers per hour on Megan Avenue, between Lawrence Avenue East and Flerimac Road, in conjunction with the installation of speed humps. 4. Subject to approval of Parts 1 and 2 above, Scarborough Community Council reduce the speed limit from 50 kilometers per hour to 30 kilometers per hour on Megan Avenue, between Flerimac Road and Beechgrove Drive, in conjunction with the installation of speed humps.

This staff report is about a matter that Community Council has delegated authority from City Council to make a final decision. Transportation Services is recommending the installation of speed humps on Megan Avenue, between Lawrence Avenue East and Beechgrove Drive. Staff's assessment indicates that the criteria as set out in the updated Traffic Calming Policy has been satisfied. Therefore, speed humps should be installed on Megan Avenue.

Staff recommended

The Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services recommends that: 1. Scarborough Community Council authorize the installation of speed humps on Megan Avenue, between Lawrence Avenue East and Beechgrove Drive. 2. Scarborough Community Council direct the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter the roadway for the installation of eight speed humps on Megan Avenue, between Lawrence Avenue East and Beechgrove Drive, generally as shown on Attachments 2 and 3, Drawings TC-402 and TC-403, November 2024, attached to the report entitled "Traffic Calming (Speed Humps) - Megan Avenue" from the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services.
