The Toronto and East York Community Council: 1. Authorized the installation of traffic calming (speed humps) on Barrington Avenue between Secord Avenue and Lumsden Avenue. 2. Directed the City Solicitor to prepare a By-law to alter the roadway to install four speed humps on Barrington Avenue between Secord Avenue and Lumsden Avenue, generally as shown on Attachment 1 to the letter (November 29, 2024) from Councillor Brad Bradford.

My office heard from residents on Barrington Avenue, between Secord Avenue and Lumsden Avenue, that speeding vehicles have become a major concern in recent years, especially with the proximity to Secord Elementary School. After a successful petition, it is recommended that Toronto and East York Community Council adopt my recommendations.

Staff recommended

It is recommended that: 1. Toronto and East York Community Council authorize the installation of traffic calming (speed humps) on Barrington Avenue between Secord Avenue and Lumsden Avenue. 2. Toronto and East York Community Council direct the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter the roadway to install four speed humps on Barrington Avenue between Secord Avenue and Lumsden Avenue, generally as shown on the attached Drawing No. TC-381, dated October 2024 from the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services.
