This report recommends the appointment of a public member to the Aboriginal Affairs Advisory Committee, for a term ending on November 14, 2026. Currently, the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the Committee states that the public members will be representatives of member agencies of the Toronto Aboriginal Support Services Council and representatives of Indigenous organizations identified by the City and/or Toronto Aboriginal Support Services Council.

The public members will be nominated by the Toronto Aboriginal Support Services Council and recommended to the Civic Appointments Committee through the City Manager for appointment by City Council. The nomination contained in Attachment 1 to this report, has followed this process. The Committee currently has 17 public members and one Member of City Council. The current Terms of Reference states that the Committee will be composed of up to 25 public members and one Member of City Council.

The City Manager recommends that: 1. The Civic Appointments Committee recommend the public member recommended in Attachment 1 to City Council, for appointment to the Aboriginal Affairs Advisory Committee, for a term of office ending on November 14, 2026.
