City Council on December 16 and 17, 2025, adopted the following: 1. City Council appoint Kamal Gogna as Chief Building Official and Executive Director, Toronto Building for the City of Toronto, with such appointment to be effective January 1, 2026, subject to written acceptance by the candidate of the terms and conditions of a contract of employment offered by the City. 2. City Council authorize the appropriate City officials to take the necessary action to give effect to City Council's decision, including the introduction in Council of the necessary bills to appoint the approved candidate as the Chief Building Official and Executive Director, Toronto Building under the Building Code Act, 1992.
