As filed
The Etobicoke York Community Council: 1. Reduced the speed from 40 km/h to 30 km/h on Subway Crescent, between Dundas Street West and the south end of Subway Crescent. 2. Authorized the amendment of Schedule XLV (Part 1) to City of Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 950, Traffic and Parking, to remove Subway Crescent, between Dundas Street West and Aukland Road, from being excluded from the Designated Area such that this portion of highway will then be included within the corresponding designated area in Column l in Schedule XLV (Part 1).
On the agenda
As the city filed it
Subway Crescent is an interesting collector road near the Kipling Transit Hub within Ward 3 Etobicoke-Lakeshore. Prior to the redevelopment of Kipling Station, Subway Crescent used to loop from Dundas St Wat Poplar Ave to Auckland Rd. Subway Crescent is now a dead-end street that provides access to a multi-residential building, commercial buildings and parking, and the GO & MiWay bus terminals. While Subway Crescent is now relatively short in length, I receive an above average amount of concerns and complaints from residents relating to the speed of buses and other vehicles, and pedestrian safety issues at this location.

These issues are made worse because the street is quite wide and there is a slight curve and downward slope to the street, which can impact visibility. I have been working with residents to address these concerns from multiple angles, one of which is lowering the speed limit on this road .
