City Council on May 21 and 22, 2025, adopted the following: 1. City Council increase the 2025 Operating Budget for Non-Program by $18,080 gross, $0 net, for the purpose of providing one-time capital funding to the Box Murals Inc. to complete eight murals on Bell Canada utility boxes at the locations listed below in Ward 9 Davenport, fully funded by Section 37 (Planning Act Reserve Fund) community benefits collected from 1800-1818 St.

Since 2009, artists from The Box Murals Project have painted over 600 murals on Bell Canada outdoor utility boxes in over 50 communities throughout Toronto, Southern Ontario and Quebec. The Box Murals Project is an innovative collaboration between private businesses, community organizations, local artists and local governments that benefits all members of the community. Residents in Davenport have identified a number of utility boxes for which they have requested public art.
