As the city filed it
This is a motion for redirection of section 37 funds for a capital project to improve sports facilities at Clairlea Park. Clairlea Park is home to two tennis courts and an underutilized sports pad. Pickleball is a growing sport in Scarborough and the City of Toronto. In discussions with the ward Councillor, Parks Planning, and Parks Operations and Technical Services, the vision is to expand and upgrade the existing sport court program at Clairlea Park overall to include pickleball and other new sport court programs, like basketball.

Reason for Urgency: - Section 37 community benefits funds required in order to proceed with new park development; - Funds will be used in 2025-2026; and - Parks and Recreation have already closed a Request For Quote to obtain a consultant to implement the project, and award documentation is with the purchasing group over the next two weeks.
