City Council request the General Manager, Toronto Shelter and Support Services, in consultation with the Executive Director, Corporate Real Estate Management and the Chief Executive Officer, CreateTO, to consider the acquisition of additional sites adjacent to 68 Sheppard Avenue West in connection with the development of the new shelter site, taking into consideration key program criteria as set out in the Homelessness Services Capital Infrastructure Strategy: Real Estate Strategy as set out in 2024.EC9.4.

This vital initiative reflects a commitment to reconciliation and culturally appropriate care. The accompanying recommendations were developed in close partnership with the shelter provider, Native Women's Resource Centre of Toronto, ensuring a collaborative approach that centres Indigenous voices and works toward the best possible outcome for the women, children, and communities this shelter will serve.
