As the city filed it
There is a long history of major traffic collisions and injuries along Wilson Ave between Wilson Heights Boulevard and Bathurst Street. On February 11th, 2025, an 81-year-old woman was struck and killed by a dump truck turning off the 401 onto Wilson Avenue. On January 29th, 2025, a woman in her 70s was struck and killed by a van turning from Faywood Boulevard onto Wilson Avenue. On September 23rd, 2024, a pedestrian was rushed to hospital after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Wilson Avenue and Wilson Heights Boulevard. On September 11th, 2023, a pedestrian was hit and critically injured by a pickup truck at the intersection of Wilson Avenue and Wilson Heights Boulevard. There are many indications that more must be done to improve the safety of both pedestrians and motorists along the stretch of Wilson Avenue. The frequency of pedestrians being either critically injured or killed by vehicle collisions along this stretch of Wilson Avenue has only been worsening.
