North York Community Council: 1. Prohibited parking at all times on the north and west side of Talara Drive, between Greenbriar Road and Caracas Road (north intersection). 2. Rescinded the existing parking prohibition in effect at all times on the east and south side of Caracas Road, between Talara Drive (southwest intersection) and a point 183 metres north of Talara Drive (southwest intersection). 3. Prohibited parking at all times on the east and south side of Caracas Road, between Talara Drive (south intersection) and Bessarion Road.

This staff report is about a matter that Community Council has delegated authority from City Council to make a final decision. Transportation Services is recommending that parking be limited to one side of the street for the entire length of Talara Drive, Caracas Road and Bessarion Road. Currently, parking is generally allowed for the unsigned statutory three-hour limit on both sides of these streets. Parking on both sides of the street obstructs two-way traffic.

The proposed parking prohibitions will address this matter. During the course of the investigation, it was noted that there is a discrepancy between posted signs and the existing parking regulations. Recommendations 2 and 3 will correct this inconsistency.

Staff recommended

The Director, Enforcement and Streets Management, Transportation Services recommends that: 1. North York Community Council prohibit parking at all times on the north and west side of Talara Drive, between Greenbriar Road and Caracas Road (north intersection). 2. North York Community Council rescind the existing parking prohibition in effect at all times on the east and south side of Caracas Road, between Talara Drive (southwest intersection) and a point 183 metres north of Talara Drive (southwest intersection).
